Title: Meteorological data from the Cumberland Plain Eddy Flux tower facility at the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment, University of Western Sydney, during April 2013. Keywords: 'Eddy Flux', 'Hawkesbury Forest Experiment', 'CO2', 'Covariance' More Information: Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment, URI: http://www.uws.edu.au/hie/ FOR codes: ECOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES, PLANT BIOLOGY, BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES, FORESTRY SCIENCES, AGRICULTURAL AND VETERINARY SCIENCES Data Access: Contact Chelsea Maier, c.maier@uws.edu.au Description: 'This collection is a single file collection (in TOA5 format) that bundles together a large variety of meteorological variables being streamed from the Cumberland Plains Eddy Flux facility. These variables include averaged, totalled, and instantaneously sampled data on a 30-minute basis. The data includes a range of meteorological measurements including wind speeds, wind directions, atmospheric temperatures and humidities, soil temperature and water information as well as variables outlining the status of the logger itself. The Eddy Flux Tower, situated at the University of Western Sydney's Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment field site in Central New South Wales, was set up in September 2012 to collect meteorological and flux data from within an isolated forest experiment. Facilities
Cumberland Plains Eddy Flux Tower
Code | EddyFlux |
Description | The eddy covariance (flux) tower was installed in year 2010 to continuously measure the current exchange of carbon and water in a section of native woodland. The tower is situated in the Cumberland Plain woodland 1 km west of the Yarramundi Paddock on Southee Road, Richmond, NSW. It is 30 m tall and has a footprint of approximately 0.5 km2. The vegetation at the site is dominated by Eucalyptus trees (ca. 20-25 m tall) and an understory comprising a wide range of species, but dominated by Bursaria, Melaleuca and C3 and C4 grasses. |

Description | This TOA5 file contains a number of 'slow' meteorological variables being streamed from the Cumberland Plains Eddy Flux facility. These variables include averaged, totalled, and instantaneously sampled data on a 30-minute basis. The data includes a range of meteorological measurements including wind speeds, wind directions, atmospheric temperatures and humiditys, soil temperature and water information as well as variables outlining the status of the logger itself. |
