The community water enterprise has become a scalable model for achieving Sustainable Development Goal number 6, pertaining to access to water for all. But it has been scarcely covered in academic studies and there are no studies that look at the politics embodied in this model of delivery or the social impact that it has in villages where it operates. This will contribute to knowledge by examining the effects on common pool resource management and how this mode of water delivery impacts on trust in water infrastructure and how it reconfigures customary relations and obligations in rural villages.
