This qualitative research investigates the digital learning experiences of eight culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) university students who arrived in Australia between 2019 and 2023 and completed their secondary education in Western Sydney during the pandemic period. Using semi-structured in-depth interviews, the study explores how digital learning shaped the students’ educational journeys. More specifically, this study aims to understand how CALD students built digital confidence and resilience while navigating challenges related to digital learning and adapting to life in a new country.
The dataset includes anonymised interview transcripts in text format, along with basic metadata such as interview dates and de-identified participant background details. No audio or video recordings are included in the stored files. The interview transcripts are based on 30 minutes to one-hour individual semi-structured interview with eight recently arrived CALD university students.
